The Internet Is Smarter, Faster, and Better Than Corporations

Well, someone has to say it.

I mean, think about it. The collective brainpower of everyone collaborating is acting faster than corporations. Programmer’s fingers and thoughts pounding away at the keyboard are working over corporations like Jackie Chan would take on some big, rich doofus with a slower right hook.YouTuber

Corporations are getting hit from all sides by sites like Wikipedia, Videojug, and so many, many more. So many new Internet technologies in fact, that big media is melting like the wicked witch and that’s why they are gobbling up the big “first to market” leaps in innovation such as YouTube, MySpace, and the like.

Now, if you regularly read this blog, you know I work in big media but am also an activist to help deal with the issues of our day such as Peak Oil, Global Warming, yada yada yada. I mean, damn, there’s just so many ways to perish these days.

I bring this up because we are at an amazing point in time. A time when the Internet is growing itself, collectively learning from itself, contributing to itself, and assimilating itself.

That’s why after attending WebVisions, I realize that if big corporations are Agent Smith, then the Internet is collectively, you and me. You are Neo. I am Neo. WE are Neo.

So here’s to you, all the programmers, dreamers, idealists, and others out to save the world. We can do it together. We MUST beat the corporations. We must be smarter, faster, and better than money. Just remember – even Neo had to eat and get around in the real world.

That’s why, Neo, you absolutely need to read this crucial document to understand your most important mission yet:Peak Oil Task Force Report Cover - Randy White

As a Neo myself, as I find myself relating to dozens of new people everyday, I see it is easier than ever to share the wisdom. All the information to go green, take on our own health care, cook up fantastic veggie meals and learn yoga seem to be online. It is sites like yours and the ones you lay out here, that distill the information so we have the most useful data needed to activate. If we carpool, or bike, go veggie or even vegan, learn how to meditate and focus our being, we will be living in our power evermore. Now is the time to activate and help each other as citizens of an emerging community of conscious beings.
