Ron Paul Peak Oil

Tonight the media are slamming Ron Paul because he pointed out that America’s military adventures are a reason we were attacked on September 11th, 2001.

Leave it to the media to do everything in their power to stop one of the the most Peak Oil educated Congressmen from gaining a foothold. They are employing their usual tactics, and have decided to squeeze him out early by announcing this Republican horse race poll:

Rudy Giuliani 28.75%
John McCain 21.25%
Fred Thompson 11.25%
Newt Gingrich 9.5%
Mitt Romney 8%
Mike Huckabee 1.75%
Tommy Thompson 1.75%
Sam Brownback 1.5%
Duncan Hunter 1.25%
Tom Tancredo 1.25%
Jim Gilmore 1%
Ron Paul 1%

Boy, that’s funny. Look at this interactive “Candidate Rating” map people are voting on (over 22,000 votes) and you;ll see Ron Paul with the MOST positive votes.

So it’s time to grow up, America. I don’t want to sound like an alarmist, but damnit… the Oil Drum, Heinberg, Blume, Simmons, Deffeyes… are beginning to say we peaked in 2005/2006! Sure as shit you can see oil production has flattened out and we are beginning to see oil field crashes all over the place. If you think we have 5, 10, or 15 years, you are wrong. Even the CEO of Shell John Hofmeister admitted ““Here’s the reality. We have a 100-year infrastructure of oil and gas. We have to continue to feed that infrastructure to sustain our economic growth model, to sustain our lifestyle.” While he advocates drilling offshore to resolve our problems, that just equates to switching to a more sinister drug dealer.

Americans cannot afford to be placated by politicians claiming we’re gonna tackle that darned energy thing with hybrid cars by the year 2017 or by more drilling. That’s like saying you don’t need to start on a big school project yet because it’s due in three months. If we flunk this test, we die, so why not get this sucker done early?

We MUST do this so less people die. You heard me right… so less people die. There will be casualties as peak oil just gets worse. If you don’t have the stomach for surviving, then you may not make it when oil shoots up to unsustainable prices, or perhaps when shortages occur.

I believe of all the Republican presidential candidates, Ron Paul is the most qualified and he gets my support. Watch him fight for your rights:

Osama bin Laden HIMSELF said the reason for Al Queda (sic) was American involvement in the Middle East. I have never understood why the media doesn’t probe those issues more. Our presence (or is it former presence) in Saudi Arabia was directly due to the first Gulf War and Bush I’s fears that Hussein would roll on into Saudi Arabia and grab their oilfields in addition to Kuwaits. I thought Republicans were for free markets – let the market do what it may – so why do we have to defend the world’s oil supply? Ron Paul has a truly unique stance among the presidential candidates and is a true conservative, but I am afraid he may not offer strong federal leadership on energy issues. This needs more research…
